Consultant – NPO Development 2027-30 – Wessex Museums

Fee: £15,000 inclusive of VAT and expenses

Contract: March – July 2025

Location: Remote with travel to partner museums in Dorset & Wiltshire

About the contract

Wessex Museums is seeking a Consultant to help define their NPO ambitions and programme for 2027-30, in readiness to submit an application to Arts Council England at the end of July 2025. This involves leading and facilitating partnership workshops, drafting a clear narrative, programme of activity, and budget aligned with Let’s Create and relevant Government policies. The contract also includes completing the NPO application. Please refer to the contract brief for the full purpose and expected outputs.

Wessex Museums is a thriving consortium of the principal museums across Dorset and Wiltshire that share the stories of Wessex from prehistory to now, namely:

  • Dorset Museum & Art Gallery 
  • Poole Museum (and Scaplens Court)
  • The Salisbury Museum 
  • Wiltshire Museum
  • Swindon Museums (STEAM Museum, Museum & Art Swindon, Lydiard House Museum)

How to apply

To apply, Contractors are asked to submit the following in application for the contract: 

    • A statement outlining your approach to the contract to achieve the stated outcomes/outputs (no more than two sides of A4).
    • Two examples of previous experience which are relevant to the requirements of this contract (no more than two sides of A4). 
    • CV / bio of consultant/s involved in delivering the contract.
    • Two references.
